Two Bloggs One Series ~ Virgin River #16

Barb and I are back in Virgin River and it was a nice time! Once you read my review please head on over to Barbs channel @ Booker T's Farm and giver hers a view.

In Virgin River, you never know what you might find around the bend in the road...

Former actor Dylan Childress left the L.A. scene behind years ago for a quiet life running an aviation company in Montana. But with business slowing down, Dylan is starting to wonder whether he should take one of the offers Hollywood keeps sending his way. He figures a motorcycle trip to Virgin River with his buddies might help him decide what path to take. But his own troubles are left at the side of the road when he spots a woman stranded on the way into town.

Katie Malone and her twin boys' trip to Virgin River is stopped short by a tire as flat as her failed romance. To make matters worse, it's raining, the boys are hungry and Katie is having trouble putting on the spare. So when some bikers pull up beside them, offering to help, all Katie feels is relief. Then she sees sexy, leather-clad Dylan Childress, and in one brief moment the world turns on its axis.

Katie's a sensible single mother and Dylan's a die-hard commitment-phobe. Neither one is looking for long-term romance. But sometimes it takes only a moment to know you've found something that could change your life forever.

Barb and I are nearing out end of our buddy reading of the Virgin River series and I am a bit sad. Only 3 more to go and we are done. This series is such a comfort read and always makes me smile.

In the previous book we met Connor and so we got a small glimpse of Katie as that is his sister. She is a military widow with two rambuncious twins and her brother is very protective of her. Since his move to Virgin River she has been wanting to come visit so she sets out to do just that and along the way she has a flat tire. She is hoping for some nice regular type person to help her but she gets a biker group.

In the group is Dylan an ex child actor who now lives in Montana and sort of keeps to himself. Right now his business is taking a bit of a hit because of the economy and nobody taking charter planes, so he is taking a trip with friends. He helps Katie with her tire and of course there is going to be a bit of a spark.

Dylan's life has been a lot different from Katies so he has commitment issues but wants to get to know Katie while he is in Virgin River, he tells her he would be leaving soon but stays longer than he had planned. He even seems to like her twins and can tell them apart. Yep, he is in trouble...lol.

I liked Dylan and Katie they made a cute couple, the twins were also cute and great for the story but not in it to much that it takes away from the romance. Both characters have their own issues to work though, though Dylan a bit more than Katie. There was also a nasty momma bear and her cubs that were entertaining at times.

I also loved being back with the regulars of Virgin River. It's like visiting friends!

  1. I completely forgot to mention they bears. The addition of them and how Katie was basically a Momma Bear protecting her cubs as well was a great aspect to the story.

  2. I loved the Sullivan Crossing series by this author but haven't read any of her other books. This does sound good and I really like how much you've enjoyed the series as a whole. Definitely a good sign.
