Another week that just flew on by and I almost forgot to make this post because I couldn't believe it was Saturday!

Did a bit more watching of old school movies. I watched Romancing the Stone, Jewel of the Nile and Dirty Dancing. Old School April has been fun!

Have a great week!

Books I have added

Nothing! :)

Books I have read
  • In Farms Way - Still not a favorite but at least I liked this one more.
  • The Tower Treasure - First Hardy Boys book and I enjoyed it.
  • It Watches in the Dark - I swear Middle Grade horror book covers just get scarier and scarier. This was a good book.
  • The Day of the Triffids - I tried a classic sci-fi and it wasn't bad but I hate open endings. I listened to this via a sort of radio show type audiobook that made it fun.

Currently reading

  • Mysteries of Paris - Still chipping away at this massive classic with my friend Nicole, it's the only way I am getting through it lol. On page 293 of 1300+. Paris has a lot of mysteries...lol.
  • Nightwing - Buddy read with Barb and not enough killer bat action. Kind of slow.
  • Above Suspicion - Spy thriller and I am enjoying it. Not real far though and it's a print book so goes slower. I am on page 70 of 256.
  • The Secret of the Mansion - Just started this audiobook so no opinion yet. It's the Trixie Belden series book one.

What might be up next

Just hoping to get the books above done before the month is over (except for the chunker...lol)

April is just flying by and to quickly! Though I am so ready for a steady income of warm weather and not this up and down stuff we are getting. I haven't planted anything for fear of a frost!

Not a lot happened this week, I listed on my ebay store and sold something which was cool.

I watched a few more old school movies this week that I got from the library. I watched Pretty in Pink, Short Circuit, Beetleguise, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Above the Law. :)

Have a great week and happy reading!

Books I have added

Nothing

Books read last week

  • Basil and the Lost Colony - Book two in the Basil of Baker Street series and it was cute.

Currently reading

  • The Mysteries of Paris - This one is long and could be cut down a lot as it's very wordy. Reading it with a friend is helping or I might have gave up already...lol. On page 234 of 1363.
  • Above Suspicion - I am liking this one so far but just not dedicating enough time to it. On page 39 of 354.
  • The Eye of the Sun - Not as good as I hoped but not horrible. On page 77 of 188.
  • In Farms Way - Forgot I needed to get this one read so had to thow it in last minute and hopefully get the audiobook done by the time we discuss it today! Oops. It's okay but not a favorite series. This is book three.
  • The Tower Treasure - I meant to continue this and haven't so will probably start over and get to it. I only got a few percent into it a few weeks ago.

What might be up next

Not a clue...lol.

Week in Review #77

So I have been participating in Old School April which is a fun readathon/watchathon put on by a lot of fun host. So I have been reading a lot of older kids books and watching lots of fun movies.

I forgot to post last week what I read and watched but this week I watched Overboard, The Thing, St. Elmo's Fire, Cocoon, and Tremors.

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Review of The Rats

Books I have added

 Nothing.

Books read last week

  • Basil of Baker Street - A cute mouse story and the book The Great Mouse Detective was based on.
  • Bunnicula - A book series from my childhood and so cute! Vampire bunny that drains veggies.
  • Howliday Inn - The second book in the Bunnicula series and a howling good time. :)
  • The Celery Stalks at Midnight - The Third book in the Bunnicula series, yes I was having fun with these.
  • Some of Us Are Looking - Not part of Old School April but I had started this one in March so wanted to finish it up. It's the second book in the County Kerry series. Not a cozy by any means just a straight up contempory mystery set in Ireland.

Currently reading

  • The Mysteries of Paris - A giant chunker of a classic that I am buddy reading with another booktuber, Nicole from Noteworthy Fiction. We are taking our time through this 1300+ page book and so you will see it on my currently reading for a few months. :) So far I am only 100 pages or so in and it's okay but not real sure what exactly the plot of the story is..lol. Reads easy though and this is the penguin classics edition that I bought.
  • Above Suspicion - I have recently started collecting this authors books as I have been finding them at thrift stores for like 50 cents and I thought I should probably try one...lol. She writes spy thrillers and this one is her first one from 1940s. So far this one has me curious.
  • The Eye of the Sun - I am buddy reading this one with a booktuber, Tammy from Believe in Yourshelf. It's one of my harlequin oldies and so far it's just okay.
  • The Tower Treasure - The first book in the Hardy Boys and I don't think I have ever ready any but it's def old school..lol.

What might be up next

Not sure as a lot of my reading this month is mood reading and I am doing a lot of watching of movies which is taking some reading time. :)

Two Bloggers One Book ~ The Rats by James Herbert

It's Old School April (a readathon I am participating in) and so I wanted to read some older horror and I got Barb to read one with me. So once you see what I thought go on over to Booker T's Farm and see what Barb thought.

For millions of years man and rats had been natural enemies. But now for the first time - suddenly, shockingly, horribly - the balance of power had shifted and the rats began to prey on the human population.

This book is from 1974 and it was pretty much a fun ride of just killer rat action. Don't expect much plot...lol.

So some scientist guy decides it's a good thing to breed a rat with a virus to some sewer rats and well it doesn't go well because now there are some large rats just going around eating everyone.

There are some who are trying to figure out how to get rid of the rats, meanwhile the rats are running rampant. And that is pretty much the story and it was fun. :)

Now, there are a lot of animal deaths in this one because rats don't care if your human or animal when killing so be aware of that, but if you just want a fun fast paced killer animal book then this is it. :) But if you want a book with a lot of plot this is not it.

3.5 stars for fun killer rat action.
